Where does it come from?
Lorem ipsum is derived from De Finibus Bonorum et Malorum, a philosophical work by Cicero written in 45 BC. The standard scrambled passage has been in use by typesetters since the 1500s. It became the de facto standard for digital design tools when desktop publishing programs adopted it in the 1980s.
Words vs. sentences vs. paragraphs
Words are handy for short UI labels and button text. Sentences suit body copy and card descriptions — each sentence is 8 to 20 words, varying naturally. Paragraphs generate blocks of 3 to 6 sentences, ideal for testing multi-paragraph layouts or article templates.
Max amount
This generator caps output at 200 units per run. For words that means up to 200 words per click; for paragraphs that produces a sizable wall of text. If you need more, just click Generate again — each run is randomly seeded, so the output is always different.
