Resize PDF Pages Free — Change Page Size to A4, Letter, or Custom

FusionPDF resizes all pages of a PDF to your chosen dimensions — A4, Letter, A3, or a custom width and height — using pdf-lib in your browser. Content scales proportionally to fit the new page size. No file is sent to any server, and no account is required.

How to Resize PDF Pages

Upload your PDF to the drop zone. Select a target format from the preset buttons: A4, A3, A5, Letter, or Legal. Choose portrait or landscape orientation. For non-standard sizes, select Custom and enter width and height in millimeters. Click "Resize and download" and the converted file saves instantly to your device.

What Standard Size Options Are Available?

The tool supports the most common international paper sizes. Each preset sets the exact dimensions used in print workflows:

  • A4 — 210 x 297 mm, the standard in Europe, Australia, and most of the world
  • Letter — 8.5 x 11 in (216 x 279 mm), the US and Canada standard
  • A3 — 297 x 420 mm, used for posters, plans, and large diagrams
  • A5 — 148 x 210 mm, used for booklets, flyers, and handouts
  • Custom — any width and height in millimeters, for non-standard formats

Resize vs. Crop: What Is the Difference?

These two operations do different things to a PDF page. Resize changes the page dimensions and scales content to fill the new size. Crop trims the visible area without scaling — it removes space from the edges but does not change the size of the remaining content. Use resize when you need the output to match a specific paper format. Use crop when you want to trim borders or margins.

When Should You Resize a PDF?

  • Preparing a document for printing on a specific paper size your printer requires
  • Standardizing a batch of mixed-size pages to uniform A4 or Letter dimensions before sharing
  • Preparing for PDF/A archiving, which often requires consistent page dimensions
  • Converting a US Letter document to A4 for international distribution, or vice versa

Privacy: Your Files Stay on Your Device

Business documents, financial reports, and legal contracts often contain sensitive data. With FusionPDF, all resize processing happens inside your browser using pdf-lib (MIT license). No file is uploaded to any server at any point. The PDF is read from your local storage, processed in memory, and downloaded directly back to your device. Nothing leaves your machine.
