Insert Blank Pages into a PDF Free — Add Empty Pages Anywhere

FusionPDF inserts blank white pages at any position in a PDF using pdf-lib, entirely in your browser. Choose the position and number of pages to insert. No file is sent to a server. The result downloads immediately as a new PDF file with the blank pages included at the exact location you specified.

How to Insert Blank Pages

Upload your PDF to the drop zone. In the options panel, enter the page position after which blank pages should be inserted. Enter 0 to insert before the first page, or type the page number after which insertion should occur. Set the number of blank pages to add (up to 20 at once). Click "Insert and download" to get the updated PDF.

When Would You Need to Insert Blank Pages?

  • Adding separator pages between sections in a long report or manual
  • Creating space for handwritten annotations in a document that will be printed and filled by hand
  • Padding a PDF to a required page count for a submission or binding format
  • Creating a cover page or back page by inserting a blank at the start or end of the document
  • Aligning pages for double-sided printing so each section starts on a right-hand page

Insert Blank vs. Insert Pages from Another PDF

The insert blank tool adds empty white pages. If you want to insert pages that already contain content from a separate PDF file, the right approach is to use the Merge PDF tool. Merge lets you combine multiple PDFs and reorder the resulting pages using the page reorder interface, giving you full control over where each source page lands in the final document.

What Size Are the Inserted Blank Pages?

Inserted blank pages automatically match the dimensions of the first page in the document. This keeps the layout consistent when the file is opened in a PDF viewer or sent to print. If your document has mixed page sizes, the blank pages will match the dimensions of page 1 regardless of the surrounding pages.
